The Keening—the solo music project of Rebecca Vernon (of Sub Rosa) —weaves a web of lush orchestration, American Gothic sensibilities and wintry murder ballads set against a backdrop of dark, shimmering folk.

Dark as this sounds, there is always a light at the end of the tunnel.Rebecca Vernon was the owner, lead singer, guitarist and primary songwriter of Salt Lake City’s acclaimed SubRosa. She ended that 13-year project in 2018 to focus on The Keening. Celebrated “Engine-ear” and bassist Billy Anderson collaborated with Vernon and WitchMountain drummer Nathan Carson as co-producers on the recording of the album. A host of Portland’s finest session musicians lent their talents to the album, including Andrea Morgan of Exulansis on violin.

Anderson, Carson, Morgan, and guitarist Christy Cather (Ludicra, Ails) form the nucleus of Vernon’s new live backing band. The Keening released its debut album Little Bird via Relapse Records in October of 2023. They closed 2023 by joining Agalloch at a sold-out show in Portland’s historic Crystal Ballroom a subsequent  performance at Decibel Beer and Metal Fest in Denver as well as Little Bird appearing at #10 on Decibel Magazine’s annual Top 40 album list.

Supporting The Keening are Nevada City post-metal/doom act AEQUOREA and local darkwave/world act Black Magdalene.

PATHOLOGY is renowned for their unyielding death metal assault on the ears, fueled by a relentless hunger to produce bludgeoning music with profound themes that set them apart from others in the genre. Formed in 2006 by Dave Astor, ex-cofounder of bands like THE LOCUST and CATTLE DECAPITATION, the band has evolved into its strongest lineup, featuring Dave Astor on drums, Daniel Richardson on guitar, Richard Jackson on bass, and Obie Flett as the vocalist, creating a perfect combination of talent.

Their music is an intense amalgamation of brutal riffs, crushing drums, and dark imagery, making it impossible to divert one's attention from their blood-soaked and twisted world of death metal.

With heavy grooves and an unyielding style, PATHOLOGY delivers compelling brutality that is not for the faint of heart. Their live performances, filled with guttural growls and rumbling grooves, leave both old and new fans captivated by the sheer force of PATHOLOGY's music.

PATHOLOGY's uncompromising hostility towards their music continues to wreak havoc on anyone daring to step into their destructive path. Their commitment to maintaining a unique and raw sound has propelled them to the forefront of the death metal elite. PATHOLOGY stands tall, unyielding to mainstream pressures, making them the most forward-thinking purveyors of mayhem in the genre.

“This is definitely the most honest and mature record Deathchant has ever made.”

That’s Deathchant vocalist and guitarist T.J. Lemieux talking about the band’s third and latest album, Thrones. Think of it as not just the follow-up to 2021’s Waste, but the other side of the coin. “While Waste and our self-titled album touched on similar themes, they were sort of from a problem standpoint,” he explains. “Thrones is full of reflection, self-realization, and solutions for moving forward and conquering those problems.”

“Overall, it’s a pretty dark record,” Lemieux says. “It's serious and leans into heavy themes, sometimes using metaphor and imagery to soften those blows, but sometimes it hits direct. It’s positive, though—and cathartic. Forever riding on the line of total insanity and flirting with mental degradation. It’s our most realized and ambitious record to date.”

Body Void originally formed in the spring of 2014 as Devoid. Since changing their name in 2016 with the release of their full-length debut, Ruins, they’ve continued to evolve and progress. In 2021 they signed to Prosthetic Records and released their third LP, Bury Me Beneath This Rotting Earth.

In 2023, they returned with their most unhinged work to date. On their fourth full-length Atrocity Machine, the trio turned further toward noise and industrial. Inspired by acts such as Wolf Eyes, Pharmakon, and Killing Joke they contorted their pulverizing style of doom to fully embody the nightmarish reality of a country seemingly built only to exploit and punish.

The band has remained more active than ever in recent years. They’ve maintained a consistent tour schedule since 2021, hitting the road with the likes of Primitive Man, Uniform, Portrayal of Guilt, Mortiferum, Elizabeth Color Wheel, and OvO, and appeared at such festivals as Roadburn, Oblivion Access, and Levitation.

Over the course of their first two albums, ‘Cosmovore’ and ‘Providence’, Ulthar carved out a unique niche on the spectrum of underground metal, forging a grotesquely elegant hybrid of Technical Death Metal alchemy and Black Metal’s stinging blizzard winds, all with the acerbic color of the absurdist’s brush. Nearly 3 years on from ‘Providence’, a burst of deadly creativity has resulted in TWO new albums, to be released simultaneously.

‘Anthronomicon’ embodies the continued progression of Ulthar’s mastery over its art - always evolving, refining and pushing forward. From the opening blasts and twisting mania of ‘Cephalopohre’ Ulthar baffle with angular warped riffage, dipping in and out of various dimensional spheres. Off-kilter multi-directional turns veer swiftly and violently as though about to come apart at the seams only to reshape again and again into ever more monumental forms. Each of Anthronomicon’s 8 tracks represent a fractious piece of a larger puzzle, each a maze unto itself that when taken together allow one to traverse this inverted surrealist conundrum.

::Flossless Proudly Presents::

Primitive Man is Planet earth's first and only deathsludge™️ band.

Undergang was spawned from the sewers of the Copenhagen underground in the late spring of 2008, with the intention to bring back rot and putridity to the Death Metal scene. In the beginning of September 2008 a demo version of "Evigt Lidende" was recorded, but was never officially released on its own. A lot of shows were played during the last half year of 2008 and during the winter of 2008/2009 the recording session of the debut record Indhentet Af Døden took place.

The recordings was released on a promo cassette tape in the summer of 2009, but just before the release the release of the vinyl edition of the debut was established together with UK label Me Saco Un Ojo Rec. The LP was later released in 500 copies in January 2010 and was repressed in September 2010 just in time for the Kill-town Death Fest in Copenhagen, Denmark.

During all of this time Undergang has played various shows in Denmark, Sweden and Germany including a couple of mini-tours with friends in bands like Dead Instrument and Anatomia. Slowly decomposing, Undergang continue to spread their plague through the world of men, till this rotten planet will finally collapsed.

The Original Southern California Punk/Surf Power Trio,
Agent Orange, is one of only a handful of bands who have been continually active since the earliest days of the West Coast Punk Scene.

A small circle of musical rebels who came together to form a movement, they took their place front and center to experience and participate in the explosion of now legendary underground music that was created during the golden era of American Punk Rock.

Being the first to combine the melodic California surf guitar sound with the frantic energy of punk, Agent Orange invented the formula that would come to define the Orange County punk sound. Highly influential to many of the bands who have followed in their path, Agent Orange have always stayed one step ahead.

Their strong connection to the Action Sports world has resulted in their music providing the soundtrack to numerous major motion pictures, video games, surf and skate films, television, and live sports events.

The last of the true independents, Agent Orange have managed to stay true to their roots, while always moving forward. Powered by a loyal following built up through years of explosive live performances all over the world, Agent Orange continue to deliver their Fullblown-Supercharged-Punk-Surf Sound on an international basis, with a never ending schedule of tours in the United States, Canada, South America, Europe, Australia, and Japan.

Advance Base is the melancholic soft rock recording project of Chicago, IL singer/songwriter Owen Ashworth (formerly of Casiotone for the Painfully Alone). Using a two-handed arsenal of electric piano, Omnichord, samplers, effect pedals & drum machines, Ashworth builds minimalist, heavy-hearted, & nostalgia-obsessed ballads around his conversational baritone. The warm, electronic sound of Advance Base has been described as "lo-fi," "depressed" & "weirdly uplifting."

"Karima Walker began releasing simple pastorals around a half decade ago, but quickly her songs morphed into something stranger. Inspired by her discovery of boundary-pushing composers like Éliane Radigue and Pauline Oliveros, she’s taken to fusing her structured folk songs with abstract sound art. It’s something others have attempted before (...)  this Arizona-based songwriter’s fusion feels particularly alien." - Pitchfork

The Dollyrots are no stranger to success. The band has hit the Billboard Heatseekers and Independent Albums charts multiple times, they’ve been featured in movies and TV shows and they’ve shared stages with some of punk and rock’s biggest names. Their 2004 debut was released by legendary punk label Lookout! while the next two came out through Joan Jett’s Blackheart Records. Long a staple in rotation on Sirius/XM’s Little Steven’s Underground Garage, the band’s consistent output perked up the ears of Wicked Cool founder Stevie Van Zandt. “Their songwriting has reached a consistent level of greatness,” he says. They are now working with the label, an alliance which followed several DIY, fan-funded releases.

The partnership with Wicked Cool has also extended to the radio, where Kelly has held down the position of morning show DJ since 2019 on The Underground Garage, another Stevie Van Zandt creation. The Kelly Ogden Program airs every weekday morning on Sirius/XM Channel 21. In addition to fronting The Dollyrots, Ogden has also appeared in or shared her voice in TV and film as has the band, including ABC’s Schooled, Netflix’s Nimona, CSI: NY, Greek, Disney’s Brave, Easy A, a live performance on The Price Is Right, Dickinson, Billions, and Girl Trash: All Night Long. Vision Video is a post-punk goth rock band from Athens, Georgia that injects modern malaise into classic sounds of the late 70's and 80's.

The band pays homage to classics like the Chameleons and The Cure, while also bringing a refreshing modern element to the genre.

Thematically their music explores the effects of trauma on the human psyche and finding stability and agency in an insane world. Having served in Afghanistan with the army and as a firefighter in the civilian world, lead singer and guitarist Dusty Gannon is no stranger to the darker proclivities of humanity and death itself. "I wanted to write music that helped people remember that it's okay to not be okay, but that also doesn't shy away from taking a stern look at the darker aspects of our flawed human existence." says Gannon.

The band's first two records were met with much critical praise, such as that from Pitchfork stating they create "dreamy tune tailor-made for the sort of wallflower who sprints to the dancefloor the instant the DJ drops “Age of Consent” or “Primary” at Goth Night"
Their debut LP "Inked in Red" and second LP "Haunted Hours", were recorded and mixed by Tom Ashton of The March Violets at his Sub Von Studios in Athens, Georgia.Vision Video will soon record their next LP "Modern Horror" at Maze Studios in Atlanta headed by Grammy award winning producer Ben Allen.

American alternative country favorite Wayne "The Train" Hancock is that rare breed of traditionalist, one who imbues his retro obsessions with such high energy and passion that his songs never feel like museum pieces he's trying desperately to preserve. Hancock is most often compared to Hank Williams, and he can indeed be a hardcore honky tonker, but there's more to him than that: he also displays a genuine affinity for stomping rockabilly, Western swing, blues, and old-timey country à la Jimmie Rodgers. Plus, he also throws in the occasional pop standard in the manner of Willie Nelson's classic Stardust album. Hancock's devotion to classic country sounds, coupled with his strong aversion to the Nashville hit-making machine, earned him an ardent following among alternative country fans (from both the country and rock sides of the movement), as well as a fair amount of critical acclaim.

::Flossless Proudly Presents::

TITHE is a Portland, Oregon based trio that constructs an unorthodox amalgamation of death metal, black metal, and grind without straying too far from the fundamentals of aggressiveness and depravity. Conceived in 2017 by vocalist/guitarist Matt Eiseman and drummer Kevin Swartz, the band spent its first years writing and releasing a self-titled EP before finding bassist Alex Huddleston at the end of 2018. This lineup went on to release the debut LP “Penance” in May 2020, which despite the challenge of releasing in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic, was well-received. The album explores the themes of psychedelics, mental illness and the human condition.

TITHE’s sophomore LP “Inverse Rapture” evolves upon the themes of Penance and morphs into a more angry, raw, and disharmonious embodiment. The trio’s most incendiary material to date, “Inverse Rapture” maintains the blazing tempos TITHE is known for with dreary, lowering passages strewn throughout. Produced/mixed by Fester, mastered by Adam Gonsalves and featuring the macabre art of Abomination Hammer, “Inverse Rapture” is a complete sonic exhibition of cold-blooded savagery and anguish from beginning to end.

Joining Tithe is PDX death metal band Vulnere and more tba
