Veradas - PDX psych/grunge/alt-rock power trio.
"The title is a thinly-veiled nod to Mudhoney, and you can hear it in the fuzzed riffs and pummeling drums, [...] There’s King Gizzard and Osees in the bones, with Jane’s Addiction and Nirvana echoes coming through." - Idioteq
Rayon - Rayon is the nom-de-plume used by Portland musician (and motorcycle shop owner), Eric Sabatino. Self-Described as “a life-long post punk and Sonic Youth fan trying to reconcile their love of The Kinks and 60’s British Pop”

Orbit 17: Orbit 17 is an experimental independent rock band based in Portland, Oregon. Known locally for their intimate arrangements and front-woman Jamie Brite’s expressive live guitar work, Orbit 17 explores the tension between the digital and the analog, forcing the two into an uneasy harmony. Raw guitar lines often collide with sweeping synthesizers, creating a soundscapes that feel otherworldly yet still human.

Egotones: Once a rippin' and totally respectable surf band, Egotones has refused to be defined by genre or bullied into sticking to conventions. Drawing on doom, heavy psych, post-rock and beyond, the quartet now seems firmly planted in "genre-unclassifiable" but often heavy territory, and we're all the better for it.

Lana Del Rabies, conceived by multi-disciplinary artist Sam An, is a captivating force in underground dark electronic and heavy music. Her sound merges industrial, gothic noise, and metal with experimental elements.

The name references early work where she sampled female pop musicians into melancholic noise tracks. Her work has evolved to explore the brutality of what it means to be human in a world consumed by the threat of apocalypse.

She is known for her intense and immersing live performances that hold the audience in captive catharsis. Her music is inherently tied to the worlds she builds visually, through the creation and direction of videos, visual art, photography and live music experiences.

Praised by critics for her unique blend of quietly macabre and wildly maximalist music, Lana Del Rabies' sonic journey, is a potent, beautiful, and darkly transcendent experience.

Piñata Protest is a “Tex-Mex punk” band from San Antonio, TX. Their self described sound and attitude arises from the two counter-clashing worlds that the band embraces: punk and Tex-Mex.

Piñata Protest’s unique and catchy sound takes the traditional folk rhythms of Tex-Mex music (conjunto and norteño music that is native to the South-Texas and Nortern-Mexican region they originate from) along with the three-row button accordion and combine that with the fast tempos and attitude of punk rock, ska, and many other genres.
Along with the use of traditional instruments and rhythms the band also sings in their regional mix of Spanish and English (or Spanglishas it’s called locally). Their songs lyrics cover a range of topics, from political topics close to the ethno-identities of the band, drinking, love, religion, and racism. Adding to their sonic performances is a lively and energetic live show that ignites crowds to mosh, skank, and twirl their dance partners.

Formed in 2023 by musician/producer Sean Alan, the colorful garage punk sound, ironic sincerity, and explosive energy of The Blurry Stars came into its own when Ventura bassist Bash Porter and Santa Ana-based drummer Adam Spurlock joined the project after the 3 met as unlikely strangers through a Craisglist ad. The SoapGirls are a French-born, South African-raised alternative rock duo consisting of sisters Noemie "Mie" Debray (guitar, vocals) and Camille "Mille" Debray (bass, vocals). Distinguished by their "Revolt Rock" sound and a strictly independent "DIY" ethos, the sisters are the sole architects of their career—writing, arranging, and producing 100% of their musical catalogue, management, and visual identity themselves.

The duo first gained public attention as child street performers in Cape Town, singing and selling handmade soap to benefit local hospitals—an origin that provided both their name and their reputation for social action. Their international breakthrough occurred in 2009 with the song "Boys Boys Boys," which featured on a Japanese compilation disc and sparked global interest. This momentum led to a major-label contract with Universal Music South Africa and high-profile television appearances, including performing as guest artists on Idols SA (Top 10).

Following the success of their Number 1 debut album Xperience (2011) and four Top 5 singles, the sisters made the pivotal decision to leave the major-label system to reclaim their creative voice. Since then, they have operated entirely independently, rejecting outside writers and producers to maintain an unfiltered artistic vision.

Legend Zeppelin exists for two fundamental reasons: musicianship and time travel.

At its core, this project is about the living act of playing music - exploring the same songs night after night, allowing them to evolve, breathe, and change through repetition, risk, and creative pressure. Just as Led Zeppelin did, Legend Zeppelin treats the songs not as fixed artifacts, but as elastic frameworks - shaped by the moment, the room, the audience, and the limitations imposed by the tools at hand.
Playing this way over a prolonged period of time, with the same equipment, the same challenges, and the same constraints, reveals something deeper: how music grows when it is allowed to live.

The second purpose is immersion - true time travel. Legend Zeppelin is an attempt to get as close as humanly possible to being there: stepping into 1969 and moving forward year by year through Led Zeppelin’s live career. Not just recreating the songs, but recreating the conditions - same instruments, same amplification, same microphones, same PA systems, same work methods, and the same technological limits that shaped the music in real time.

Portland-based multi-instrumentalist, musician, and author Lawton Browning founded Change Life in 2023 as a new creative vehicle shaped by the upheaval and reflection that followed the pandemic years. Conceived as a collaborative and fluid project, Change Life brings together a rotating cast of musicians and visual artists, forming a loose collective rather than a fixed band. At its core, the project explores ideas of reinvention, transformation, and collective creativity in uncertain times.
Drawing inspiration from Anarchist and Surrealist traditions of political resistance, imagination, and direct action, Change Life approaches music-making as both artistic expression and a form of cultural dialogue. The project blends elements of indie rock, experimental pop, and lo-fi aesthetics with a strong conceptual framework, often incorporating visual art, collage, and collaborative processes into its broader identity.
Prior to this project, Browning was best known as the driving force behind the Portland indie rock band Woolen Men. Over the course of a decade, the band released six full-length albums along with numerous 7” singles, cassettes, and music videos, earning a dedicated international following.

With their second album 'Excess', Automatic — Izzy Glaudini (synths, lead vocals), Lola Dompé (drums, vocals) and Halle Saxon-Gaines (bass) — synthesizes a new strain of retrofuturist motorik pop.

It’s often said yesterday’s science fiction reads like today’s grim reality. On their new album 'Excess,' Automatic channel both. The LA trio’s second album for Stones Throw rides the imaginary edge where the ‘70s underground met the corporate culture of the ‘80s; or, as the band puts it, “That fleeting moment when what was once cool quickly turned and became mainstream all for the sake of consumerism.”

PROFANATICA are at the vanguard of the first wave of American black metal. Founded and led by infamous master of black perversion Paul Ledney (drums/vocals), they have purveyed primeval blasphemy for nigh on thirty-three years.
Ledney formed the band from the ashes of the first INCANTATION lineup when he split and took with him all of the members sans John McEntee.

Something so volatile could only last briefly, and after another brief recording session the band collapsed under the weight of its own extremity. but the recordings made in this two year window went on to see dozens of reissues in the coming decades, in a testament to how formidable and formative they are to the black metal scene worldwide.

After almost fifteen years spent with his equally polarizing solo project HAVOHEJ, Ledney reignited the flames of PROFANATICA in 2006. Reemerging with a new deal from Hells Headbangers, Ledney and his new band released 'The Enemy of Virtue', a collection of that vaunted early material, and a new full- length, 'Profanatitas de Domonatia'. A triumphant return, 'Profanatitas de Domonatia' picked up right where these Kings of US Black Metal left off, delivering a savage stream of chainsaw guitars and relentless battery upon which they desecrated everything sacred.

Russian Blue is six people, a wall of synthesizers, and a room full of strangers dancing like they've known each other for years. The Seattle band makes synth-driven post-punk that owes as much to the dancefloor as it does to the stage, landing somewhere between LCD Soundsystem's restless pulse and the emotional sweep of Bleachers.

Their latest album A Modern Analogue, released January 2026 on Pegasus Theory, hit #5 on KEXP's Top 90 chart and is now in heavy rotation across the station. The album release show at Bremerton's historic Roxy Theater sold over 300 tickets.

In an era where most indie bands are trimming down, Russian Blue is doing the opposite. The live show is maximalist, built to make a room move and not let up until it's over.

SLEEPBOMB performs The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari

Sleepbomb is a San Francisco-based cinematic psychedelic post-rock band focused on full, original scores for genre films including the German Expressionist silent masterpieces - The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari, Nosferatu and Metropolis, George Romero’s 1968 classic zombie film Night of the Living Dead and the epic swords & snakes of John Milius’ 1982 Conan the Barbarian. Historically a live experience, Sleepbomb has performed their scores across the West coast of the US since 2003 and now has set their sights on expanding across the US and beyond.

Musically, Sleepbomb ranges from heavy doom riffs to dreamy shoegaze, dark soundscapes punctuated with shimmering guitar and ethereal vocals. Originally stylistically close to a chaotic version of Throbbing Gristle vs Black Sabbath, Sleepbomb has been exploring experimental sounds and forms, guided by the band’s love of Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Coil, Neurosis, Sunn 0))), Ulver and Swans, among others. Settling on a drone influenced style of psychedelic post-rock as the overarching theme while exploring other genres as appropriate for each film’s particular style, Sleepbomb’s goal is to re-contextualize the experience of these well known films. They succeed in this goal.

Sleepbomb joined Bill Gould’s koolarrow records and Belgium’s Consouling Sounds in 2023 for the release of their score for the classic 1920 German Expressionist film The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari. They were overjoyed to repeat this collaboration for their 2025 release of The Sleeping Dead: excerpts from an alternate score for George Romero’s Night of the Living Dead. Up next - Conan the Barbarian.

Pallbearer’s Foundations of Burden (2025 Redux) is a meticulous sonic reconstruction of their transformative, landmark 2014 album. The newly remixed and remastered version arrives digitally on Nov. 7, with physical editions (2xLP and CD) available on Dec. 5.
“During the writing and preparation for Foundations, everything was ephemeral and we were practically feral,” recalls bassist/vocalist Joseph D. Rowland. “We had no real practice space, we barely had a single working computer between the four of us. Our demos of the record consisted of something barely discernible from white noise. Nevertheless, we knew we were working towards building a set of songs we were deeply enthusiastic about.
Once in the thick of recording, the feeling went from dream to dreamlike very quickly, as we found ourselves in what felt like an endless churn of repetition. We slept at the studio on whatever soft surfaces we could find, waking each day to discover that some of the previous day’s work had been corrupted overnight. This resulted in some parts of the album being recorded many times over. The guitars in particular mutated into something Sisyphean.”
More than a decade later, Pallbearer seized the opportunity to revisit the record from the ground up. Over the past year, the band meticulously reconstructed the album from the original sessions.

GHOROT is a Blackened Doom-Metal Trio from the High Desert of Boise, ID. Devastatingly heavy in both tonality and structure, Ghorot strives to defiantly coalesce the dominions of sludge, doom, stoner, and black metal into a behemoth of sonic ferocity.

Private Prisons is a Los Angeles metal band drawing influence from black metal, sludge, doom, drone and death metal while presenting a crushing and undefinable sonic force that defies you to fully pin it down. It's fucking heavy.

Influenced by bands like Opeth and Cynic, Cryptic Divination is a unique "second generation" of sounds from '90s death metal to '70s prog rock. Utilizing heavy riffs, clean sections and screams, they embody a new wave of pacific-northwest progressive death metal.

Redivivus is an Emerald Valley black/death metal band that has been evolving, morphing, and eventually spiralling into the depths of Dante's own hell ever since they were initially forged in 2018. Their current form is their most vicious, unrelenting and malicious.

Norway's cosmic heavy rock powerhouse KAL-EL return with "Astral Voyager Vol. 2", the sequel to the most critically-acclaimed and eminently listenable album in their catalog.
The continuation of a multi-dimensional journey, "Astral Voyager Vol. 2" picks up with interstellar bounty hunter Mica evading pursuit by The Nine as she traverses time and space to bring in her marks. An infectious blast of sci-fi metal and soaring desert anthems, this is a record about the dangers of manipulation and struggling for individuality against the unseen powers who try to keep us compliant and controlled.

"When was the last time you attended a live music performance with a genuine element of risk involved? And no, going to a Gwar show with a white t-shirt on doesn't count. When Bit Brigade takes the stage your mind will frantically oscillate between "Oh! Agh!! Please don't die!!" and "YES! He's doing it!!" Combining the dread and daring of a live video game speed run with the spot-on technique of a live band covering the musical accompaniment to everything you're seeing on-screen in real time, Bit Brigade will have you swinging between the two mediums. From thrashing about to live renditions of your favorite stage themes, fingers yearning to the sky in a rock 'n roll parody of sea anemones seeming to silently plead, "Please, feed us more fretboard pyrotechnics!," to being locked in stock-still rapture as the infallible maestro of the d-pad, Noah McCarthy, takes on the final boss and risks his video game life under the threat of intense peer scorn (or the reward of night-long glory and a credits score). No matter the outcome, Bit Brigade must play on until the deed is done - which it always is - on the first (and last) try. Once Noah’s NES buzzes on, there's no turning back." - Metalhead Mike of The Shizz, summer 2011

“The word “play” is probably an understatement- these guys shred through the games as expertly as the band wails on their instruments.”
-Nintendo Power (11/2006)

Bit Brigade performs rock covers of full NES/SNES game soundtracks as their gamer speedruns the game live on stage.

Jon Spencer (Jon Spencer Blues Explosion) is back with a new album, Songs of Personal Loss and Protest, via Shove Records. He made it with his current band of Spider Bowman on drums and Kendall Wind on bass, who are also known as the rhythm section for The Bobby Lees.

“I’m in a time of spiritual reckoning,” Jon says of the album. “These past few years there has been a lot of emotional conflict and personal loss — the passing of time takes its toll. Losing friends, losing family, and all of this set against a world gone topsy turvy where it feels like we are losing basic freedoms… I’m trying to balance a lot of things, but the answer is always rock’n’roll.”

Continuing that thought, Jon adds, “Rock’n’roll is America’s true gift to the world — the sound of revolution! It came out of the sky, a screaming, chrome-plated flying saucer, like an outer space monster, landed here on Earth so the freaks could have their say. It is the hip-shaking sound of rebellion. The blues is my bible, rock’n’roll is our battle cry!” - Brooklyn Vegan
