HED 1.jpg

1/13/2024

Originally based in Huntington Beach, CA, (Hed) p.e. was founded in 1994 by frontman Jahred, whose goal was to fuse the region’s long-standing punk rock heritage with G-funk-inflected hip-hop. He was shortly joined by bassist Mark who has remained alongside the band until present day. The line up is currently rounded out by guitarist Jaxon and drummer Trauma.

(Hed)p.e was snatched up by Jive Records early in its career, but it wasn’t until the year 2000 when they released the album “broke” that they received mainstream success. It was this album that solidified them as a mainstay in the rock and metal community.

Many have asked what the name (Hed) p.e. means and stands for. According to vocalist Jahred, “The name (Hed) p.e. is a name I came up with which basically means our consciousness is connected to the planet and the planet is evolving, therefore, we as her children, evolve with her. The “p.e.” originally was defined as PLANETARY EVOLUTION, and sometimes morphs to PLANET EARTH and back, but both carry the same message, the (Hed) is the symbol for consciousness. WE ARE ON THE MOTHERSHIP!”

In a time when so many bands are playing it safe and going through the motions, whether it be out of fear of failure or lack of new ideas, (Hed)p.e. embraces change and “Evolves” with their greatest work to date.

Mustard Skulls Print.png

::Flossless Proudly Presents::

Mustard Plug started out in 1991 in the punk clubs, basements, and dive bars of the Midwest, playing punk-influenced ska music before most people in the U.S. had ever heard of ska. They embraced a DIY work ethic that had been ingrained in them growing up in the 1980s hardcore punk scene, and applied it to everything they would ever do together as a band.

Voodoo Glow Skulls were formed in 1988 by Eddie Casillas, Jorge Casillas, Jerry O’neill and Frank Casillas. After a few years of backyard party shows, cassette demos, 7” singles and first club gigs, they released their debut album “Who is, this is?” for Dr. Strange records in 1993, gaining the attention of Brett Gurewitz, owner of Epitaph records. The band then signed to Epitaph records and released four albums, starting in 1995 with Firme, their most successful album to date, then followed by Baile de los Locos, Band Geek Mafia and Symbolic.

::Flossless Proudly Presents::

Dopethrone is a three piece band from Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Active since 2008, this DIY band is known for their abrasive mix of sludge and doom with lyrics based in the self destruction, cannabis, sleazy drug abuse, and the macabre. Influenced by rock n roll, punk, black metal, and blues, the band refers to their music as “Slutch”, the Canadian term for cold sludge, a.k.a. dirty mud snow. They once described it as “frozen sludge, snow covered in addiction, blood, tears, and broken dreams”.

After their second release, the band started drawing some attention to them and were invited by Voivod to perform at Roadburn 2012. They since haven’t stopped growing their audience in Europe, their adoptive land. Since their formation, Dopethrone has release five full length studio albums to date, joined some collaborations with other artists, and have regularly toured Europe and Canada.

After a series of massive tours in 2019, the band has not hit the road since, and focused on the ‘delicate’ baking of their new release. The new effort, to be out early  2024, will come with North American tours, and even a return to Europe for select dates.

Since her 2018 debut with "Strawberry Milkshake," Kit's songs reflect her journey through love, joy, sadness, and self-discovery, conveyed through catchy hooks and vivid visuals. Her 2023 double single release, “Break Up Again/I Wish U Didn’t Hate Me So Much” showcases her versatile style, ranging from sparkling brit pop to grunge alt rock. With influences like Sonic Youth, Oasis, Fountains of Wayne, and The Pretenders, Kit Major's storytelling and genre-blending rock set her apart in a unique niche.

Crooked Teeth.png

2/9/2025

::Flossless Proudly Presents::

Crooked Teeth started in early 2017 simply as an outlet for founding member Tyson Evans with no grandeur vision in mind other than to make music as a form of catharsis. Since then, the moniker has evolved into a hard-hitting, tried and true rock band with the addition of vocalist/guitarist Emma Oakley and drummer Jason Hayes.

In 2022, the trio loaded themselves, gear, and aspirations in a minivan and set out to rock faces and make new memories. At festivals such as Aftershock and Welcome To Rockville alongside personal favorites like My Chemical Romance and The Smashing Pumpkins as well as headline dates crisscrossing between both coasts, they earned new fans with their big smiles, potty mouth humor, and undeniably catchy two-to-three-minute rock anthems.

In between touring the band released three singles with the intent of moving closer and closer to a debut full length which they are now hard at work on. The third and final single of 2022, "Promise", landed a ton of support from Spotify, Apple Music, Pandora, and a whopping 165 spins in one month on Sirius XM's OCTANE channel.

“It’s a ruthless beating, like a giant pounding a girder against concrete pylons, and the whine of the guitar feels like ants swarming under the skin. The effect is all the more disturbing (yet riveting) because of the tortured and enraged extremity of the vocals. Those horrid roars, ravenous snarls, and wild screams put the hairs up on the neck while start-stop bursts of brutalizing punishment constantly shove us off-balance, and those ants frantically feed on veins.”

The Olympia, WA based Oh, Rose has solidified their place in the PNW music scene through powerful, upbeat performances showcasing the emotive and unfiltered voice of front-woman Olivia Rose. Their catalog is both intimate and explosive; since forming in 2014, the band has released two albums and an EP, amassing a catalog that ranges from soft, synth-tinted love songs to full-on, painfully screamed ballads.

The group’s latest single, Back 2 U, is a pop-forward track following their emotive 2019 release, While My Father Sleeps. In June 2024, the band will celebrate 10 years with the reissue of their first EP, That Do Now See, released via Antiquated Future.

Metalachi was born over a decade ago as the result of a

night of tequila-fueled mariachi debauchery and wild

abuelitas screaming for the popular metal and mariachi

songs of their youth; the resulting love child has had the

power to remove bras and bring smiles to many people

in the subsequent years, with performances ranging

from iconic venues such as The Viper Room and

Whiskey A Go-Go to Heavy Montreal Festival, Monsters

of Rock Cruise, Netflix is a Joke with Burt Kreischer, and

even a nationally airing AT&T commercial.

"They combine the humor of Steel Panther, the

flamboyant of GWAR, and the eclectic rawness

of Rob Zombie. There’s also a little dose of

Spinal Tap and a hit of Cheech & Chong. The

music is classic metal covers from artists like

Metallica fused with classic mariachi by Vicente

Fernandez and Mariachi Vargas de Tecalitlan.

Their setlist is punctuated by comedic interludes

and skits." - Phoenix New Times

Dummy — the Los Angeles band comprised of Alex Ewell, Emma Maatman, Nathan O’Dell, and Joe Trainor — announces its new album, Free Energy, out September 6th on Trouble In Mind Records, and shares the lead single/video, “Nullspace.” Pop has always been a big part of Dummy’s sound, but it manifests differently on Free Energy. Sometimes it’s quite literal (and funny), such as the bubbly synth sequence made with a Korg EM1 popping all over lead single “Nullspace,” which features a melody written by O’Dell and is the song the band calls the record’s “sonic mission statement and really influenced by Mark Van Hoen, especially the cut-up dreamy dance-pop he was making on the Locust record Morning Light.”
